This video shows how to make a bamboo trap, in this case to catch snakes.
Similar traps, but with a string loophole can also catch mice or other rodents. A loophole obviously kills them, taking care of an infestation.
The man in the video is a teacher, and shows us how to make it. He always releases the animals he catches.
